Casio G-Shock's short film 'The Descent' was one of the most amazing YouTube clips in ages. Now part two is here and it's just as jaw dropping. Extreme mountain bikers, Cameron Zink and Kyle Strait testing the latest G-Shock G9300 Mudman using its Compass's Twin Sensor technology, mud resistance and tough solar power. Strait as they tear through the rocky cliffs of Virgin, Utah, the clip shows the duo checking their G9300 Mudman’s compass and thermostat along with the contents of their pants as they do some of the most death-defying drops you've ever seen on two wheels.
The duo masters the large rock structures, proving that the G-9300 Mudman is as hardy as they are; shock resistant, dust and mud resistant with a compass and thermometer. The new G9300 Mudman boasts resin-covered buttons and construction that helps to keep dust and mud out of the watch, developed for use in harsh environment like deserts and jungles. The watch is intended, in particular, to provide the reliability and functionality needed for several-day rally racing through a desert region.
Cameron Zink started racing downhill when he was ten, but he has also always been a jumper and ended up being better at it than racing. He is taking part in all big competitions and won last year’s FMB World Tour. With his out-of-nowhere win at the 2001 Sea Otter Classic, Kyle was hailed as "the next Ryan Nyquist." He participated in NORBA competitions, World Cup contests, and global one-off events such as Red Bull Rampage. Kyle won the 2004 Red Bull Taxco Downtown with a 60-foot gap jump as well as the 2005 Red Bull Valparaiso Downtown. Kyle’s third-place finish was his first World Championship podium and the only downhill medal awarded to a U.S. rider.
I do not think that anyone forgot the great well done ‘The Descent’ that was not only extremely well done, but served as a great commercial for Casio's line of G-Shock watches, which were used prominently in the short film. Now they gear up to do it all over again with 'THE DESCENT II' taking you on a free mountain bike assault through Utah's rugged Virgin desert. With monster drops and big time air, it's all about showing the extreme toughness of the compass equipped G9300 Mudman.
The video also captures both riders discussing the importance of the Mudman's compass, thermometer and other functions to their sport. Check the video here!
